Current Vacancies
The firm is now accepting and evaluating applications for Trainee Contracts for 2011 for Chartered Accountants as well as CFA's. BDO also has a limited number of bursaries available for full time students.
CA TRAINEES
To be considered for a training contract at BDO, you need the following qualifications (in order of preference):
- Completed Part I of the SAICA Board examination to become a Chartered Accountant or in possession of a CTA (Certificate in the Theory of Accounting), from an accredited University. A person with this qualification has the best chance of being accepted as a Trainee Accountant, and will sign a three year training contract as part of his or her training to become a CA;
- Completed B COMPT or equivalent degree, from an accredited University and studying towards the CTA at an accredited University. Unfortunately UNAM is not at this stage accredited with ICAN, but B ACC students also qualify for training contracts, see point 3 below. These students also qualify for a three-year training contract.
- Completed B ACC or equivalent degree, from a non-accredited University and studying towards the CTA at an accredited University. This would include students with an ACC degree from UNAM. These students qualify for a four-year training contract.
- Busy with a B COMPT, B ACC or equivalent degree, from an accredited or non-accredited University and studying towards completion of such a degree, with the intention of completing studies towards becoming a CA. These students qualify for a five-year training contract.
- Persons with GRADE 12, who intend to study for a B COMPT, B ACC or equivalent degree, with the intention of completing studies towards becoming a CA. These students qualify for a five-year training contract.
BDO Namibia believes in providing opportunities for qualified and non-qualified Trainees, and we therefore invite all persons with a desire to become a CA, to apply in one of the categories above.

CFA TRAINEES
To be considered for a training contract at BDO, you need the following qualifications (in order of preference):
- Completed university degree (at a university approved by the CFA Council), such a degree must include the subjects Accounting 3, Auditing 2, Commercial Law and Taxation. These students qualify for a three-year training contract.
- Busy with a university degree (at a university approved by the CFA Council), such a degree must include the subjects Accounting 3, Auditing 2, Commercial Law and Taxation. These students qualify for a four-year training contract.
- Persons with GRADE 12, who intend to study towards a university degree as described above. These students qualify for a five-year training contract.
BURSARIES 2011
BDO has a limited number of bursaries available to students who wish to study full time towards becoming a Chartered Accountant. Bursary students agree to commence employment with the firm once their full time studies have been completed, for the same number of years that the firm supported them financially during their studies.

AUDIT MANAGERS
Positions available for audit managers with the following minimum qualifications :
- Chartered Accountant, registered with a recognised Institution;
- Minimum of 3 years post article experience in a professional environment;
- Experience in the use of Caseware Audit Workpapers;
- Management experience;
- Ability and willingness to train Namibian Trainees to become Chartered Accountants or suitable experience in on-the-job training provides to young trainees.
SENIOR ACCOUNTANTS (ALL OFFICES)
Three positions available for senior accountants with the following minimum qualifications:
- Significant progress made towards studies to become a CFA or CA, preference will be given to candidates with the following professional qualifications in order of preference:
- CFA, or exams passed towards becoming a Chartered Accountant;
- Completed articles;
- Currently studying towards CFA with professional experience;
- Holder of a B.Compt (or equivalent) degree with professional experience;
- Experience in the use of Caseware Audit Workpapers;
- Ability and willingness to train Namibian Trainees to become CFA's or suitable experience in on-the-job training to young trainees.
PASTEL SALES CONSULTANT
A position is available for a sales consultant in our Information Technoligy department to manage and control the firm's Pastel sales and support. The suitable candidate should have the following qualifications at minimum:
- Pastel PCI certified installer;
- Relevant diploma;
- Experience in sales
