Executive Summary
Róchel, a Namibian registered Chartered Accountant, has accumulated over thirty years of valuable experience in the agricultural, retail, insurance, mining, manufacturing, fishing and various other business environments.
He joined Ernst & Young (E&Y) in 1988 and was the manager in charge of the Walvis Bay office specialising in the Fishing Industry.
He joined BDO in November 1998 as partner in charge of the Entrepreneurial Division and also of the Walvis Bay Office with its main focus, the Fishing Industry. Róchel became the Managing Partner of BDO Namibia in 2001.
He obtained vast experience in the fishing industry through his involvement in the audits of most of the major fishing companies in Namibia, such as Namibian Sea Products, Namibian Fishing Industries, Tunacor, Cadilu, Kuiseb (now Hangana Fisheries) Corvima Group of fishing companies, Namibian Fishermen Association and other major fishing operations at the coast. He was also involved in the merger and acquisition of two major fishing groups in Namibia and was the reporting accountant for the merger of the white fish interests of a listed company.
Rochel also has vast experience in the medical industries, specifically hospitals and doctors. He has worked with docters at Welvitchia Hospital in Walvis Bay, the Medical Imaging group, and Ongwediva Medi Park.
His expertise, assertiveness, marketing and motivational skills are definitely a benefit to his clients.
Róchel is currently the Consultative Partner in charge of the Trustco Group of companies and assisted in the listing of Trustco on the NSX, JSE and the transition from GAAP to IFRS of Trustco International Limited.
